Physicians Emeritus

Dr. Stephen T. Autry

Dr. Autry earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1973 and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree awarded in 1998 by Xavier University.

Dr. Autry is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the Arthroscopic Association of North America. He has privileges in the TriHealth, Alliance and Mercy hospital systems.

His specialty interests include sports medicine, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery using computer-assisted navigation. He has expertise in quad sparing knee techniques as well as two-incision and third-generation anterolateral approaches to hip replacement.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Autry is a lifelong, avid swimmer. In September 2007, he completed "the holy grail of marathon swimming", the English Channel. The 22-mile trek from Dover, England to France took him only 16 hours in frigid temperature waters.


Dr. Michael J. Rozen

Dr. Rozen founded Reconstructive Orthopaedics in 1976. He led the practice until his retirement in 1996. Dr. Rozen is one of the organizers of the Spine Deformity Center at Children's Hospital as well as the State of Ohio School Screening program for Spinal Deformity. He has been active in many other state and national organizations. Dr. Rozen and his wife Judy now reside in Palm Beach Garden, Florida. He maintains an avid interest in golf and skiing.


Dr. K. Scott Starks

After over a decade of superior service, Dr. Starks retired from Reconstructive Orthopaedics in 1998. He has always maintained a substantial commitment to community affairs.

Dr. Starks is currently on the Board of the Free Store and maintains a continued interest in the Reading for the Blind program. He and his wife Margaret reside in Cincinnati.


Dr. Edward J. Berghausen

Dr. Berghausen earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1979. His residency in General Surgery was completed at Harvard Surgical Service, New England Deaconess Hospital; and his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery was completed at Tufts New England Medical Center.

Dr. Berghausen did a Fellowship in Reconstructive Orthopaedics at New England Baptist Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. After practicing in Cincinnati with Reconstructive Orthopaedics for seven years Dr. Berghausen moved to the arid Southwest with his wife and children. They now happily reside in Tuscon, Arizona.
